Czech music between Los Angeles and Prague

At the end of March, the Czech music scene was presented at MUSEXPO in Los Angeles, a conference connecting music with film, television and the wider audiovisual sector. A delegation supported by SoundCzech met with publishers, music supervisors and other industry professionals, opening up new opportunities for Czech creators in an international context.

The programme also featured the concert Echoes of the Czech Cinema, presenting new compositions inspired by Czechoslovak cinema, performed by the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra. The project introduced Czech film music directly to an audience of international music and film industry representatives.

This international activity is followed by Composers Summit Prague (23–28 April), which brings leading global composers to Prague and connects them with Czech authors and audiovisual professionals. Alongside public concerts, the summit offers a professional programme focused on film, TV and game music.

SoundCzech is also involved in this year’s edition by supporting the presentation of emerging composers (26 April, Prague Conservatory), where selected Czech and international composers will be introduced through performances by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra in front of invited industry guests. The presentation will be followed by an informal networking gathering, creating space for further connections and collaboration.

The activities at MUSEXPO are carried out in cooperation with SoundCzech, Composers Summit Prague and other partners. We would like to thank the City of Prague for its financial support, which makes it possible to present Czech music internationally.
